China Leads in Nanotech Patents, Research Papers

China has the world's largest number of nanotechnology patents and contributed more than one-third of the global academic papers on the subject, according to a recent report on the country's nanoscience and technology development. Related patent filings from the country reached 209,000 over the past 20 years. The white paper was released by global publisher Springer Nature, the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, and the National Science Library at the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the International Conference on Nanoscience and Technology on Aug 29.
